Families will be treated to action-packed entertainment starting this Easter weekend at the Mid-Hants Railway Watercress Line as Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends are joined by a special Thomas-themed entertainer for the first time to wow the crowds.
Visitors can experience a ride on a real steam engine, shake hands with The Fat Controller and take part in free Thomas-themed activities in the Imagination Stations, running between April 14th – 23rd.
As well as rides on the miniature railway, the bouncy slide, tea cup ride and story corner, new entertainer Adrian Wright - set to play “Rusty” - will be on hand to dazzle the crowds with fun magic tricks while keeping The Fat Controller happy by making sure the station is tidy.
Rusty will host three magic shows a day with guaranteed laughter for little ones, with his repertoire including arm puppet “Vern the Bird”, the multiplying vegetable, a disappearing bottle of ketchup, a special Thomas trick where he is brought to life on a cartoon picture, a fun sing-along for all the kids and storytelling from classic Thomas the Tank Engine books.
When Rusty isn’t performing his magic shows, he will be roaming around the station playing tricks in his colourful outfit of dungarees, neckerchief and station master hat.
There will be lots of laughter, singing and magic that children can get involved with. The Fat Controller will make a special appearance during the shows and will meet and greet families with Rusty at the start of the day and pose for photos.
This Easter will be an extravaganza of fun for all the family, with our Day Out With Thomas better than ever before following the introduction of Rusty to provide laughter, magic and songs. There will be lots of Thomas themed activities and people can ride on a real steam engine, as well as on the miniature railway, which is up and running after carrying out extensive work on it through the winter.
