A Day Out With Thomas at the Mid-Hants Railway Watercress Line is back, with NEW exciting funfair rides and a unique, tasty food offering. It’s certainly a day not to be missed this Easter.
Families can enjoy the Easter break at the Watercress Line from 30th March - 8th April. Unlimited trips can be taken up and down the railway line behind Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends, including Toad the Brake Van. Kids will also get the chance to shake hands with the Fat Controller and take part in other free Thomas-themed activities at the Imagination Stations.
Free fun-filled experiences at Ropley Station include Horton’s Steam Fair vintage swing boats and chair-o-plane rides, a Thomas-themed entertainer, the miniature railway and a story corner, with Thomas stories read by The Fat Controller and Rusty.
To top it all off, a huge variety of local delicacies with a unique twist are planned, including the Cookie Bar Bus, a vintage bus serving hot food, speciality teas, coffee, cookies, cakes and snacks. You can climb up to the top deck of the bus and enjoy the spectacular views across the railway line. Broughton Water Buffalo, home of the famous Buffalo Burger, has been inspired by the Watercress Line and is featuring watercress with its mouthwatering, gluten-free burgers and sausages at the event. Alresford Station’s West Country Buffet is also hosting a new and improved food offering for any hungry tums passing through. And for all those sweet toothed tots, Fat Sam’s Ice Cream van will be providing delicious ice creams throughout the day at Alresford Station.
A Day Out With Thomas is always a highly anticipated event at the Watercress Line, which we know families look forward to year after year. They can ride behind Thomas the Tank Engine and meet the famous Fat Controller, which is hugely exciting for Thomas fans. Importantly this year, we have introduced new food pop-ups and entertainment, which we hope will make the day even more special, creating family memories to last a lifetime. We are thrilled to invite the quirky Cookie Bar Bus and delicious, locally-sourced food from Broughton Water Buffalo to join us. Ropley Station is set to be a big hit with this new food offering and the addition of two new rides.
A Day Out With Thomas is £18 for adults, £12 for children aged 2-15, and free for children aged under two years old. Family tickets (two adults and two children) are priced at £54. All tickets include participation in activities, admission onto funfair rides and unlimited travel on trains, running between 9:45am to 4:45pm.
