Events and Visitor Experience Manager - JOB OPPORTUNITY

The Mid Hants Railway is a ten mile stretch of preserved steam railway, affectionately known as the ‘Watercress Line’. The Railway is a voluntary organisation, supported by a core team of paid staff, which aims to preserve, maintain, and operate a heritage railway for the enjoyment and education of the general public.

We have an exciting opportunity to help us drive our heritage attraction forward by increasing visitor numbers and enhancing the visitor journey. We are recruiting an experienced Events and Visitor Experience Manager with responsibility for the planning and coordination of our wide range of special events.

Responsibilities will include:

  • The development, planning, delivery and review of existing and new events held at the Railway
  • Identification and implementation of continuous improvements to our visitor experience for events and standard travel
  • Working with our volunteers to enhance the recruitment, organisation and management of all events

The successful applicant will be pro-active, highly organised and have experience of working on and managing multiple and large events. Good verbal, communication and interpersonal skills are essential for the post along with an ability to work well under pressure and to fixed deadlines.

This is a part time role, c.24 hours per week, flexible options possible. There will be a requirement to work some weekends and Bank Holidays.
