The Mid Hants Railway is a ten mile stretch of preserved steam railway, affectionately known as the ‘Watercress Line’. The Railway is a voluntary organisation, supported by a core team of paid staff, which aims to preserve, maintain, and operate a heritage railway for the enjoyment and education of the general public.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Machinist to join our small, but dedicated team, restoring steam locomotives and heritage rolling stock. The position is initially for 4 months (June 2019 to September 2019).
The successful applicant will be experienced in the use of manual lathes, horizontal + vertical mills, slotters and borers, making small batches of parts. Must be able work with imperial dimensioned drawings and produce components from those drawings.
