Watercress Line

Coronavirus / Covid-19 Update

Our priority during the Coronavirus / Covid-19 outbreak, and the railway's closure, is on meeting our running costs. We need around £75,000 per month. Without this income, within a relatively short period we will exhaust our reserves which are so important us for our long term plans.

Although these are difficult times for all of us, we are asking you to consider providing financial support to the railway. With your support, ideally through a monthly standing order, the railway can be in a safe and good position to move forward rapidly when circumstances allow.

The amount is up to you as everyone’s circumstances are different, but please give as generously as you can. One-off donations would also be welcomed.

Thank you.

Visit our donation page to make a monthly gift or donate a single amount.

You can also text WATERCRESS to 70085 to donate £10. Texts cost £10 plus one standard rate message.

The countdown is on for a 1940’s Christmas experience at the Watercress Line

The countdown is on for the Watercress Line’s popular Christmas Leave event which makes a welcome return later this month allowing guests to experience the atmosphere of a 1940’s Christmas on the railway.

The popular event on 26th -27th December will see visitors join civilian and military re-enactors at the Watercress Line’s period stations, where there will also be live 1940s music, wartime games at Alresford Goods Shed and much more for all the family to enjoy.

We’re all fully in the festive spirit at the Watercress Line and are really looking forward to welcoming guests for a great end to the Christmas period.  Year after year we’re joined by hundreds of visitors looking for a trip down memory lane, or simply a chance to make new memories with their family and friends, and we look forward to welcoming everyone to join us for a unique experience featuring music, steam and season merriment.
