The world’s favourite little blue tank engine returns to the Watercress Line this summer. Thomas will once again be accompanied by the Fat Controller and Rusty, our Thomas-themed entertainer. This year Thomas’ visit has been made even better with the addition of exciting funfair rides and lots of tasty new food options to discover. It’s certainly a highlight of Hampshire’s summer event calendar.
The event will take place over nine days from Saturday 4th to Sunday 12th August. Visitors can enjoy unlimited trips pulled by famous engines throughout the day, including Thomas the Tank Engine and on Toad the Brake Van. Children can also shake hands with The Fat Controller and take part in lots of other Thomas-themed activities at the Imagination Stations.
The fun-filled experience continues at Ropley Station, with vintage fairground rides Dobbies and chair-o-planes, Rusty, the miniature railway and a story corner featuring Thomas stories.
For foodie visitors, a variety of local delicacies with a unique twist will be served, including the Cookie Bar Bus, a vintage bus serving speciality teas, coffee, cookies, cakes and snacks. In addition, Broughton Water Buffalo, home of the famous Buffalo Burger, has been inspired by the Watercress Line and is featuring watercress with its mouth-watering, gluten-free burgers and sausages. Alresford Station’s West Country Buffet is hosting a new and improved food offering for any hungry tums passing through. And for all those sweet-toothed tots, Fat Sam’s Ice Cream van will be providing delicious ice creams throughout the day at Alresford Station.
This year our Day Out With Thomas is a truly fun-packed and full day out for all the family - not only for steam lovers but for everyone besotted by Thomas. The addition of quality local food and quirky fairground rides makes this event one not to be missed and remembered long after.
